EPIC Technology Meeting on Specialty Optical Fibers: New Designs and Novel Applications at Photonics Bretagne
Lannion, France

Hosted by

The performance of optical fibers can be optimized by manipulating their optical properties. There are several ways to obtain specialty optical fibers: by using non standard materials in the manufacturing process; with multi-core or multiple claddings in the fiber; with photonic crystal structures; with special dopants in the core; developing special index profiles… All these processes allow to obtain fibers with special characteristics (numerical aperture, effective area, mode propagation…) which are of high interest for the development of new laser systems, fiber sensors or medical devices and to extend the applications of spectroscopic or communications systems.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss with the whole supply chain about the design, the manufacturing process and the testing and characterization of specialty optical fibers. We will discover the last developments used in applications such as fiber lasers, fiber sensing, spectroscopy, datacom… and the new tools for fiber optic preparation, splicing and termination.

We invite to this Technology Meeting all the technical experts, R&D managers, executives, industry leaders and researchers with interest in the manufacturing and use of specialty optical fibers. EPIC offers you the possibility of enjoying the high-level discussion and finding strategic partnerships and new collaborations for your company.

Photonics Bretagne members should select invited company fee to attend the event.
