EPIC Online Technology Meeting on Plastic Sorting, Recycling and Waste Management
Online Event

Rising populations and increased industrialization keep accelerating the threat to sustainable waste management. Recycling by mechanical sorting is inaccurate, time-consuming, and costly. Optical technologies can bring support and significant improvements both in sorting processes and waste management. Photonics solutions can enable classifying of wide range of materials as well as complex materials. Alongside with opportunities for individual labelling and laser marking photonics can empower recycling automation in the increasing waste stream. This meeting will bring together the end-users and photonics supply chain to discuss photonics solutions and how to accelerate their adoption into practice.

Spirit of the meetings

During these online technology meetings, we are looking for the challenges the industry is facing and bringing together the entire supply chain to address these challenges. Bringing together end-users with component suppliers and system integrators that will answer the EPIC question “What can you do for them and what can they do for you” creates the perfect foundation to establish new business relationships and find ways for new collaborations and partnerships.

Speakers

Gerhard worked at a hyperspectral camera manufacturer after his studies of electrical engineering for almost 10 years.
Following, he joined a European machine vision distributor in sales and application engineering.
Since April 22 he is part of the Konica Minolta Sensing Europe Team as a product specialist for SPECIM in the EMEA region with a focus on HSI applications.
