EPIC Online Technology Meeting on Photonics for Geological and Mining Applications
Online Event

Photonics leverages the power of light to enable advanced sensing, imaging, and communication technologies, offering significant benefits for mining and forestry applications. By utilizing optical systems and components, photonics can enhance the precision, efficiency, and safety of operations in these industries. Unlike traditional methods, photonic technologies provide non-invasive, real-time monitoring capabilities and can withstand harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, and vibrations.
In the mining industry, photonics can improve mineral detection, monitoring of structural integrity, and automation of machinery. In forestry, it can aid in resource management, environmental monitoring, and health assessment of trees and vegetation. In this online meeting, we will review the current status of photonic technologies in mining and forestry, highlight the latest innovations in photonic sensors, imaging systems, and communication networks, and engage with industry experts to discuss their specific challenges and requirements for optimizing the performance of photonic solutions. Join us to explore how photonics is transforming mining and forestry operations and driving sustainable practices.
