Bio-Imaging refers to the different techniques and systems used for in-vivo, ex-vivo and in-vitro imaging of biological samples, allowing to obtain information at the molecular, cellular or tissue level. It includes different microscopy methods (multiphoton, fluorescence, light sheet…) but also optical coherence tomography, photoacoustic or spectral imaging techniques. All these technologies are very important in the diagnosis of different diseases and the medical community is very interested in understanding all their capabilities to, for example, use them as a real-time tool for intraoperative surgical margin assessment. We have seen a lot of interesting developments on complete systems, light sources, detectors and optical components, to achieve accurate results faster and with higher resolutions. This meeting will discuss the state-of-the at those technologies and address the upcoming demands from the users.
