Photonic developments on the Mid-IR region (2.5um-15um) have demonstrated high potential for security and defence industry. Applications such as anti-missile systems operating in difficult environments and dust conditions, poisonous or flammable gases detection, and detection of explosives from large distances (100-400 m) are some of the applications that Mid-IR technology can provide to this industry.  In this meeting, the key players in the Mid-IR ecosystem will discuss about potential applications for security and surveillance, considering the challenges and requests from the end-users of this technology.
