Speakers

Demkov is co-founder and CEO of La Luce Cristallina, Inc. an Austin, Texas based producer of BaTiO3-on-Si wafers for Si Photonics. He also teaches Physics at the University of Texas. He is Fellow of the American Physical Society and Senior Member of IEEE.

Hamed Sattari is a physicist and entrepreneur with expertise in photonic integrated circuits, leading CCRAFT to scale thin-film lithium niobate technology for advanced photonic applications.

Founder & CEO at CCRAFT

Giovanni Zafarana is a Senior Scientist with more than a decade of experience in materials chemistry, polymers, and catalytic processes. He currently works at SAES Getters S.p.A. (Milan, Italy), where he is responsible for the development of advanced products in the Industrial Division, with applications spanning photonics, optoelectronics, OLED displays, and laser technologies.

Industrial Chemist at SAES

Matthias Nestler graduated in Physical Engineering in 2000. After graduation, he started as Project Manager for ion beam systems in a company specializing in ion beam and plasma process technologies. Later, he became a product manager for that company. Since 2013, Matthias has been Product Development Director at scia Systems. He is responsible for the constant optimization of existing products and the development of new fields of application.

Director Products & Technology at scia Systems

Daniel Sá Pereira (Sales Manager) joined Bühler Leybold Optics in 2021 working in the Semiconductor Market Segment as a technical Sales Manager. Daniel is a Microelectronics Engineer from the New University of Lisbon, Portugal (2015) and a PhD in Physics from the University of Durham, United Kingdom (2019). His research focused on the characterization of organic materials for application in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Since leaving academia, Daniel has joined Business Unit Optics at Bühler Leybold Optics Alzenau to focus on emerging applications that combine the worlds of Optics with Semiconductor in applications where optical filters are built directly on semiconductor chips.
