As modern aerospace and tactical defense platforms demand unprecedented payload compactness, flat optics and metasurfaces are transitioning from laboratory breakthroughs to scalable industrial solutions. This meeting addresses the critical role of these technologies in achieving extreme SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, and Cost) reduction for harsh environments. Gathering the entire supply chain – from optical design and wafer-level manufacturing to tier-one system integrators, we will explore the engineering and production challenges of integrating next-generation flat optics into sovereign European space and defense systems.
