After an Engineer Degree in Agro-Industry and a PhD in Biostatistics, Anthony founded GreenTropism in 2014. As CTO, he is in charge of R&D for applied Artificial Intelligence to spectroscopy technologies (vibrational, atomic, multi/hyperspectral).
Photonics plays a crucial role in revolutionizing how humans inspect and process food. Emerging technologies allows zero-waste, the highest safety control and the quickest label sorting and verification. At this meeting, we will investigate the solutions given by the photonics industry in combination with smart software to enable an efficient and sustainable food industry.

Lien Smeesters, post-doctoral researcher B-PHOT Brussels Photonics, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, driving photonics into industrial applications.
Florent joined QiOVA to lead the company pivot towards industrial laser solution provider. He holds a PhD in Physics from Paris XI and previously worked as Product Line Manager for Coherent.
Dr. Marion O'Farrell works at SINTEF, a research institute in Norway. She is a research manager in the Smart Sensor Systems department in SINTEF. For almost 20 years, Marion has worked with the development of optical measurement systems for industrial applications, with specific focus on inline food applications. She has published over 50 articles and has two patents related to measurement of food: “Food Monitoring System” (IE20040383) and "Measurement of properties of organic material" (201580021396). She has contributed to the development of Tomra's inline NIR spectral imaging system, FATscan, for which Marel is an integrator. Marion's research is focussed on measurement system design using a multi-disciplinary approach that is based on first principles. She believes that high quality physical data, from robust sensors, can unlock the true potential for digitalisation in industry.
Gaetano Panagia is a Technical Marketing Engineer with Hamamatsu Photonics Europe since 2021. In this role, he is responsible for promotion and sales support of photonics components such as Mid-infrared detectors, spectrometers and light sources.
My goal is to solve industrial challenges by deploying the latest photonics technologies. As the Business Development Director of MantiSpectra, I engage with potential new applications every day. It is great to translate our customers' problems and innovation ideas into solutions that are based on our ChipSense™ technology. Charged by this creative energy, and leveraging on the experience accumulated within our high-tech team, community in the Brainport Metropolitan Area and European photonic space, I'm ready for our spectral revolution.
