Sanjai Parthasarathi joined Coherent Corp. in 2013 and has been the Chief Marketing Officer since 2019. Previously, Dr. Parthasarathi was Vice President, Product Marketing and Strategy, Photonics, since 2015. Prior to Coherent, he served as Senior Director, Product Line Management, at Oclaro. Over his 30+ year career he has broad management and technical experience and the opportunity to work in all of the diverse markets that Coherent addresses. Dr. Parthasarathi has held a variety of progressive roles in R&D, manufacturing, product line management, and marketing, including senior business and technical management positions at Avanex Corporation, Oplink Communications, TeraStor, Western Digital, and Concurrent Technologies Corporation.
Dr. Parthasarathi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and holds an M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science from the Pennsylvania State University.
Tolga Tekin has received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Technical University of Berlin, in 2004. He was a Research Scientist with the Optical Signal Processing Department, Fraunhofer HHI, where he was engaged in advanced research on optical signal processing, 3R-regeneration, all-optical switching, clock recovery, and integrated optics. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher on components for O-CDMA and terabit routers with the University of California. He worked at Teles AG on phased-array antennas and their components for skyDSL. At the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM), he then led projects on optical interconnects and silicon photonics packaging. At the Technical University of Berlin, he then engaged in microsystems, photonic integrated system-in-package, photonic interconnects, and 3-D heterogeneous integration research activities. He is Manager of Photonic and Plasmonic Systems Group at Fraunhofer IZM. His R&D activities cover heterogeneous integration, photonics interconnects, and optical-wireless networks. He coordinated the European Flagship project 'PhoxTroT', 'L3MATRIX', and 'MASSTART', and is currently coordinating the Horizon Europe Flagship project 'ALLEGRO'.
Dr. Jim Zou joined ADVA Optical Networking (now Adtran Networks), Germany, in 2016, and since 2021, he's been leading emerging initiatives and new technology introduction as Global Business Development. Very recently, as of March 2025, he has been relocated to the US to support the growth of Adtran’s business on the Internet / Cloud and Carrier markets. He also actively participates in international standardizations such as O-RAN Alliance, ITU-T, CableLabs, OIF, etc.
Prior to that, he was a Principal Engineer leading EU- and national-funded (Germany) research projects in the area of optical access and quantum security.
He received the PhD degree in Optical Communication and Photonics Integration from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, in 2015.
He is currently serving on the OFC 2026 technical program committee and was Subcommittee Chair for OFC 2025. He is also an Associate Editor for IEEE/Optica Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, looking after the topics of access/metro networks and quantum security.
