The new regulations in the phamarceutical industry have increased the relevance of photonics technologies in this sector, due to their reliability and the capability of controlling the processes in real time. Spectroscopy and microscopy for the analysis of drug composition, for cross-contamination examination or anti-counterfeit actions; machine vision for online process monitoring and quality assurance; new light sources for disinfection… Photonics applications are already playing major and crucial roles in different steps of the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. This meeting will address photonics technologies to the new challenges of pharma production sites, to help this industry to increase the quality, safety, speed and efficiency of their processes.
