This EPIC Technology Meeting, hosted at imec, will bring together leading industrial stakeholders from across the photonics and microelectronics value chains, including technology providers, equipment manufacturers, system integrators, and end users. The discussions will focus on the practical integration of photonics into complex systems, addressing key industrial challenges such as co-integration with electronics, scalability, reliability, packaging, and manufacturability in real production environments.
Integrated photonics is rapidly converging with microelectronics, enabling a new class of high-performance, energy-efficient, and scalable systems. Across data communications, sensing, computing, automotive, healthcare, and emerging applications, photonics is no longer a standalone technology but a system-level enabler – deeply intertwined with electronics, advanced packaging, and manufacturing.
With a strong application and industry-driven focus, the meeting will feature concise, high-level technology presentations followed by targeted discussions. The goal is to share hands-on experience, identify common bottlenecks, and stimulate strategic collaboration. By connecting photonics innovators with system integrators and end users, the event aims to accelerate industrial adoption and reinforce Europe’s leadership in advanced microelectronics and photonics-enabled systems.
