EPIC Online Technology Meeting on Photonics for AI Datacenters will highlight how photonic technologies are becoming a critical enabler for the next generation of AI-driven data center infrastructure. As AI workloads scale rapidly, conventional electrical interconnects and architectures are facing fundamental challenges in bandwidth, latency, power consumption, and thermal management. Photonics is emerging as a key solution to address these constraints—supporting higher data rates, improved energy efficiency, and tighter integration between compute, memory, and networking. This online meeting will bring together leading industrial players and technology experts from across the EPIC ecosystem to discuss how photonics is being deployed and qualified for AI datacenters. Topics will include high-speed optical interconnects, co-packaged and near-packaged optics, silicon photonics platforms, advanced transceivers, optical I/O, and scalable packaging and manufacturing approaches. With a strong focus on real-world implementation, the discussions will explore system-level requirements, reliability, cost, and manufacturability, as well as the alignment between photonics, electronics, and advanced packaging. From rack-level architectures to intra- and inter-datacenter links, the meeting will provide insights into how photonics is shaping the evolution of AI datacenters and enabling the continued growth of high-performance, energy-efficient computing infrastructure.
